I’m trying to decide between Polish and Hungarian for next semester. Do you have any Polish experience? I can’t decide!

I don’t have any Polish experience, but maybe someone else does?

my boyfriends romanian so I’ve been trying to learn that for the past 3 months, so far I’ve been successful :)

The best way to learn a language, am I right?

I’m studying Hungarian now! Let me know if you ever want to practice :)

If I ever get to Point A, I will let you know, ha!

Well once you learn a Slavic language, you should be able to understand most other Slavic languages to a certain point.Russian is a good pick

In my experience, it varies a lot. I’m sure if I sat down and really tried to learn Polish or Czech or Ukrainian, it would be easier for me than it would be for someone who didn’t already speak a Slavic language, but as it stands now, I can’t understand any of those languages at all. OTOH I can actually communicate pretty well with people speaking South Slavic languages. I once chatted with a cab driver in Sarajevo for several minutes before he asked me what language I was speaking! ;)
